3, 2, 1, its almost the end of Webdesign 09! Indeed it is already 2010, but tomorrow, Friday, marks the end of my website design class. I learned how to blog, make web sites, and upload things to the internet. It was definately one of the most intracate classes I have ever taken. It wasn’t neccesarily hard, but if you mess up one little letter the ENTIRE website could go down. My friend who sits next to me, Grace, accidentally overided the homepage with her website!!!!! She was really nervous about the ‘Filezilla’ after that. My other friend, Amanda, always has the answer, when Grace and I were in a crunch or totally lost about what Mrs. Goudy was saying, Amanda was there. I’m going to miss this class….. BUT….. Study hall is going to be great!!

Since around December 10th I have been working intently on my Web Design, end of semester project. I chose to build my website for a school club called Youth and Government. To learn more about the club you can visit the site at www.esdealges.com/esdyg. Building a web site isn’t easy, especially when you have to cordinate the website with the person in charge of the club. It takes a lot of time and dedication. Thankfully, I got to use Adobe Dreamweaver to build the website. I used a CSS layout (Cascading Style Sheet) to format each of the pages colors and fonts so I wouldn’t have to change it on every single page.

I think since Wednesday is one of the longest days of the week in terms of letters, and it is the middle of the week… For me, Wednesday means longer chapel, shorter lunch, shorter study hall, and more school. Just what I didn’t need. I think the whole aspect of the week being half way over is covered by the sad thought of having the super long chapel, and for me, study hall is relaxing so a shorter study hall isn’t cool.

Leave me alone

Leave me alone has become, sort of, a common morning term. I can’t stand it when my parents come in to wake me up for school, I just cannot handle it. And on top of that the worst is on the weekends… I hate being woken up early in the morning. They don’t seem to understand the concept of ‘leave me alone’ very well I guess. I think if school would start at 8:45 so many people would be more energized, they wouldn’t complain as much, they would be healthier and more attentive in class leading to better grades overall.

EXAMS

It’s finally December, and I’m so ready for Christmas but first is the worst thing ever, EXAMS. They take so much time and effort that you holidays are just taken away. You don’t feel the Christmas spirit at all because they get in the way. I normally enjoy the trip to get the Christmas tree as a family, and drink hot chocolate around the fire but with exams the only thing I see is paper and my tutor. Here is a nice Christmas tree I wish I had for you to kind of grasp the Christmas spirit with.

Alex Curry is the buddy of the day today! He is in 8th grade at St. Johns Episcopal and is visiting ESD today. He likes swimming, acting, and has the awesome ability to move his scalp back and forth. Seriously, just ask him its pretty cool if I say so myself.

Yesterday, for some reason, and I’m not really sure why, it snowed in Dallas. We normally get snow every 10 or so years but not this time. It didn’t stick to the ground but it was coming down in rather large flakes but sadly after around 20 minutes it stopped.

Vacation 411

Time for a vacation right? Oh ya it’s time but were broke, the economy sucks and my wife may get layed off. Oh and did I mention we have 3 kids. Trust me, I know vacations aren’t easy with money so tight but here are some great getaways for your family this Holiday Season at a reasonable price.

1. Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for cheap rooms, food, gambling… and some other things…. But what people don’t know is that Las Vegas is actually a great family destination.

2. Cruising

One of the greatest parts about cruising, is that everything is inclusive so you have a really idea of how much your going to spend. Today, you can cruise for about $70 a day which includes unlimited food, all the amenities onboard the ship, and several excursions at ports are included.

Stressed? Tired? You’re not alone

I’m having a totally stressed out week. What about you? Is yur mom complaining, your dad working, your sister yelling? Wait, there’s more, is your World Cultures class giving you nightmares and headaches, what about that biology project that made you keep Kinkos open an extra 30 minutes? (Yes, that really happened last night) As a teenager it gets to be an everyday thing being all stressed out and sleep deprivied but I think with the excitment of Thanksgiving coming and the anticipation for Christmas it’s even harder. At this point I think my life consists of sleep,eat,school,homework and the worst part, repeat. It feels never ending and in a sense it is like turning on your iPod and leaving it on endless loop for a few hours. Speaking of iPod, try waking up to music on your iPod sometime instead of that horrid alarm noise we all just want to kill and never hear again. Try to keep your head up in class, it’s almost break time!!

P.S. Try drinking an Iced Tea or Coffee in the morning to get you motivated. (It helps for about an hour)
